Daniel’s Bride

Book Title: Daniel’s Bride
Author: Linda Lael Miller
Genres: Romance, Western, Historical Romance

Pub Date: July 1, 2010 (400 Pages, Paperback)

Jolie McKibben figured that when a woman has to choose between death and marriage to a total stranger, she must be in a desperate predicament. And Jolie, standing under the hot sun with a noose around her neck, surely was. But something — the defiant lift of her chin or her frightened blue-green eyes — had caught the attention of Daniel Beckham. He stopped the hanging by invoking the town’s wedding ordinance and married the pretty “outlaw” on the spot.So Jolie’s hide was saved…only her pride was wounded! Daniel didn’t believe she was innocent, and he barely spoke on the drive out to his farm. Worse still, two desperados were on her trail, and she didn’t dare confide her troubles to her new husband. Yet under the star-splashed Western sky, Jolie trembled whenever this rugged giant of a man came near. Now she hungered for his kisses, dreamed of his touch, and knew she would do anything a woman could to win his love — to be, with her body and her soul, truly Daniel’s bride.
My Thoughts:
Jolie is in a little trouble. She going to die if she doe not marry a man. Though the town people say she a part of the gang that stole money is she part of it or not. She must prove them that she did not have anything to do with the robbery.

Daniel comes along and saves her by saying he will marry her. He save her from being hung, Though he does he has his own troubles and struggles with losing his wife and unborn child. He also loss a daughter (I think) though not complete sure. It been a while since i read it.

Things start happening and getting interesting throughout the story. Can they work though it or do they break the marriage. Do they find the money that been stolen? Read it to find out.

Full of resolve, young widow Willow Peterson decides to pursue her dreams to be an artist as she settles into a new life in the growing mountain town of Cripple Creek. When she lands a job working as a portrait painter with handsome entrepreneur and photographer Trenton Van Der Veer, the road before Willow seems to be taking a better-than-anticipated turn.

With questions tugging at several hearts in town, including the Sinclair Sisters’ beloved Miss Hattie, change is traveling down the tracks as several unexpected visitors make their way out West. Will the new arrivals threaten the deep family bonds of the Sinclair sisters and the roots of love that are just taking hold for Willow?

Filled with the resonating questions that all women face, this romance awakens hope against grief, love against loss, and dreams against life’s unexpected turns.

My Thoughts:

This is fourth of the series and I loved it every much. This book deals with Sinclair’s sister father and Willow. Mrs. Hattie is also involved as well. The sisters all face different things in the book.

You learn about Ida and Tucker Raines a bit about them. You lean about each of the Sinclair sisters or about their family. This book is mostly about Harlan Sinclair and Mrs. Hattie, mostly about Willow Peterson as well. Tucker’s sister.

The book is about two widows and a second chance at love. There are other surpries though out the book. I really enjoyed this book along the with the series. Now understand that I have yet to read the first two books in this series. I read and own the last two books. Those books are called “The Bride That Wore Blue”, “Twice the Bride”.

My Thoughts on this book:

The way I see this book, I had been read A Texan’s Promise before reading this. Well I was expecting to hear about Clayton and Vanessa life a little bit. Though I know this book is based on Will McMillan and Scout Proffitt. Jamie was not all the interesting to me though I did read about her in the beginning. I at first thought what is going on, how were we in a train robbery already?
I really was interested Will McMillan life more then girl hostage Jamie and the other members of the Walton Gang. I was so in to find out what Will McMillan occupation was though out the book. Scout Proffitt was another I really enjoyed reading about. Though it did not mention much on his life, other some flash back as him thinking about his sister Corrine when he looking at female hostage. There a surprise relationship between two folks.

Haunted by her shameful past, Hannah Cutler struggles to accept the love of Devlin McKay. Brides of Culdee Creek book 2.

Even though her name means “grace”, Hannah Cutler struggles to accept true mercy and love—especially from Devlin MacKay, the only man who remembers her past as well as she does.

This sequel to Daughter of Joy weaves an honest, emotive tale of one woman’s struggle to accept redeeming love. Hannah Cutler, a former prostitute, is trying to begin her life anew. But she struggles with the notion of being loved, even by the Lord of love whom she recently accepted as her Savior.

Devlin MacKay adds to Hannah’s feelings of shame by unjustly blaming her for his own guilty past. But as Hannah becomes a Woman of Grace, Devlin is forced to confront his feelings for her and toward the God who has transformed her life.
My Thoughts:
Hannah has some trouble accepting her past. Devlin also is struggle with his past. He also has to deal with his wife. Hannah as a secret she must tell Devin about. Hannah comes to help when Devin wife becomes ill after giving birth to their daughter.

This book is somewhat a tear emotions for just about what going to happen. Devlin still need to come to terms with his guilt and he need to step up when he told something. For there several surprises in this book I do not want to give them away.

Child of Promise

Book Title: Child of Promise
Author:  Kathleen Morgan
Genres: Christian Fiction, Fiction, Historical Fiction, Historical Romance, Romance, Series
Series: Brides of Culdee Creek #4

Pub Date: March 1, 2002 (304 Pages, Paperback)

Kathleen Morgan’s books for the general market have earned rave reviews and hooked thousands of romance fans. Her first inspirational series, Brides of Culdee Creek, has proven successful as well. Woman of Grace and Lady of Light each climbed the CBA Marketplace best-selling fiction list. This new release, Child of Promise, is the final book in the series. Beth MacKay, the daughter of Culdee Creek’s owner, returns home after completing medical school to take over the aging Doc Childress’s practice. Reluctantly, her life and heart become entwined with that of Grand View’s Episcopalian priest, Noah Starr. But Noah struggles with his faith and calling since his wife died and his daughter, Emily, was disabled with cerebral palsy due to the difficult birth. When Beth becomes embroiled in a spousal abuse case between two of Noah’s parishioners, she encourages the battered woman to leave her husband for her own safety. Noah cautions the woman to try to work things out, and when the abuse ends in tragedy, it’s the last straw for the already-doubtful priest. Despondent and shaken, he announces his resignation to the church. Only with Beth’s faith and love, and a little help from the community, can Noah find his way back to the life and calling God has always intended for him.
My Thoughts:
This is so heartbreaking that it hard to believe it the final book in the series. Beth has her heart set on the priest in Grand View  Though she try to be not heartbroken by it. Beth goes to medical school. She hold a heartfelt past as well.

Noah is having struggles with his faith and calling once his wife dies and his daughter has disability from her birth. Noah grandmother help with letting Beth stay with them when she has some trouble with finding a place to stay.

Can things go the way they intend or do Noah and Beth find the love and the god they need and for Noah does he stay and learn that god is there for him and he is doing what god wanted him to do. Come read this series if you enjoy it. The first is emotional though the last.
