Reviews: Goodreads/Shelfari/LibraryThing/Barnes & Noble/BethanyHouse

My Thoughts: I was surpised in the way this was set up. Though I am not all for it. It was good.  There some things that is relates to romance. I would not to be hard on the rating. I think it a four star rating. It could have been more of a plot. It does have some mystery to it. It is a good book. I enjoyed it. The way she lost her husband was something new.

Synopsis:
Jolie McKibben figured that when a woman has to choose between death and marriage to a total stranger, she must be in a desperate predicament. And Jolie, standing under the hot sun with a noose around her neck, surely was. But something — the defiant lift of her chin or her frightened blue-green eyes — had caught the attention of Daniel Beckham. He stopped the hanging by invoking the town’s wedding ordinance and married the pretty “outlaw” on the spot.So Jolie’s hide was saved…only her pride was wounded! Daniel didn’t believe she was innocent, and he barely spoke on the drive out to his farm. Worse still, two desperados were on her trail, and she didn’t dare confide her troubles to her new husband. Yet under the star-splashed Western sky, Jolie trembled whenever this rugged giant of a man came near. Now she hungered for his kisses, dreamed of his touch, and knew she would do anything a woman could to win his love — to be, with her body and her soul, truly Daniel’s bride.
My Thoughts:
Jolie is in a little trouble. She going to die if she doe not marry a man. Though the town people say she a part of the gang that stole money is she part of it or not. She must prove them that she did not have anything to do with the robbery.

Daniel comes along and saves her by saying he will marry her. He save her from being hung, Though he does he has his own troubles and struggles with losing his wife and unborn child. He also loss a daughter (I think) though not complete sure. It been a while since i read it.

Things start happening and getting interesting throughout the story. Can they work though it or do they break the marriage. Do they find the money that been stolen? Read it to find out.

Synopsis:
Tired of waiting for his sons to settle down, Arizona-territory rancher Angus McKettrick announces a competition: the first son to marry and produce a grandchild will inherit Triple M ranch. Now, three distinctly different, equally determined cowboys are searching high and low for brides.

If Emmeline Harding knows one thing, it’s that she can’t hold her liquor. And though she’s not sure how she came to wake up next to a stack of gold coins in a brothel, she fears the worst. Fleeing town as a mail-order bride, she wonders: how will she ever confess her past to her handsome new husband?

Freedom-loving Rafe McKettrick is a man of strong beliefs and stronger passions and he’ll do anything to win the Triple M — even marry a stranger. To his surprise, Emmeline’s charms beguile him even as the secrets he senses she’s hiding ignite jealousy and suspicion. But when a visitor from the past enters the high country, the newlyweds have no choice but to give up on a marriage in name only and seek a union that satisfies them body and soul.

My Thoughts:
This is something of Romance. There a mystery of how she get her gold coins. She think of one thing and believe it to be something different then she images. She thinks she loss her self. But she find out something and it to be true but what she learns is that she was wrong. She found out she loves Rafe McKettrick.

My Thoughts on this book:

The way I see this book, I had been read A Texan’s Promise before reading this. Well I was expecting to hear about Clayton and Vanessa life a little bit. Though I know this book is based on Will McMillan and Scout Proffitt. Jamie was not all the interesting to me though I did read about her in the beginning. I at first thought what is going on, how were we in a train robbery already?
I really was interested Will McMillan life more then girl hostage Jamie and the other members of the Walton Gang. I was so in to find out what Will McMillan occupation was though out the book. Scout Proffitt was another I really enjoyed reading about. Though it did not mention much on his life, other some flash back as him thinking about his sister Corrine when he looking at female hostage. There a surprise relationship between two folks.

Plain and rugged–do the two mix? And what happens when a dedicated Amish woman and a stubborn trail boss prove to be each other’s match?

My Thoughts on Book:
This is unique kind of story in itself. It about a family in Apple Grove along with Luke Carson and his men on a trail. There are some things that happen along the way. Emma and Luke relationship starts to form.
In the prologue you learn about Luke Carson, and his pa. Luke was picked to be a trail boss to take Mr. Hancock cattle to market. He is to take the cattle drive from Texas to Hays. We find out what some of what Luke Carson wants in life and it bit different then this fathers life.
Emma Switzer and her family were on their way to Troyer. Emma does not want to leave Apple Grove to go to Troyer to live with her aunt. Her Grandmother  Switzer insisted on going with Emma to Troyer.
We start out on the trail in Kansas going from one Amish community to another Amish community. When unexpected things start to happen to the Switzer’s family. They are robbed of their belongings, and were left with nothing, but their lives. Emma Switzer’s father Jonas, sister Rebecca and grandmother Switzer’s were all traveling to Troyer, KS. They were hoping that Emma would find husband, as their were more Amish men available there.
After they are left on the trail, they pray for God’s help and is provided with assistance from Luke Carson. He is on a cattle drive, and is in a anxious to get to Hays, KS with his animals.
Wait until you hear what Grandma Switzer…. says and does on the wagon ride. It to funny.
So if you are in a need to laugh or you just want to read it read about to see what up with this wonder of a book. The best way to put on smile is to laugh at something. As they say laughter is best medicine.
I would recommend it but to read this it up to you to decide. These are my honest feeling and for this review. It is a fun and funny book, but if you do not like western or cowboys or rustlers this may not be a book for you but that is up to you to decide. I do not like to many histical or western stories but this one got my attention and did like it.

A Plain and Simple Heart, an exciting new Amish-meets-Wild West adventure from bestselling authors Lori Copeland and Virginia Smith, weaves an entertaining and romantic tale for devoted fans and new readers.

1884-Several years earlier, young Rebecca Switzer lost her heart to Jesse Montgomery, a rugged but dissolute cowboy on a dusty cattle trail near the Amish settlement of Apple Grove. Now she is grown up, and when she hears one day that he has been spotted nearby, her desire is plain and simple: She must see him.

When a lovely woman, new to town and looking travel weary and a bit lost, gets caught up in the middle of a temperance riot, she is arrested along with the leaders. He can hardly believe she is what she claims?a Plain and simple woman. Nor can he believe how quickly he loses his heart to her. Can Colin convince her to forget Jesse and give him a chance?

My Thoughts:
This book is the second in the series called “Amish of Apple Grove.” Really enjoyed this book for it quiet funny to see Rebecca get in a mess of things when she arrives in Lawrence, Kansas. But things start to get quite interesting the mintue Rebecca arrives in Lawrence Kansas. Colin see her and judges she there for a protest of the night she arrived.

There are a few thing that are surprises throughout the book and believe me it a book to read. I do not want to giveaway any of the secrets of what happens to Rebecca  or Colin for that matter. I do not want to tell you want happens to a few of the folks in the town. To find out it book to pick up. Another book to pick up is called “The Heart Frontier.”

Only one pair of boots-and the cowboy wearing them-can get Annie out of the mess she’s in. “”

Annie Wilkerson is Moose Creek’s premiere horse trainer and equine columnist for “Montana Living.” Money is tight as she tries to put her kid-sister through college and provide for her young nephew.

When Annie’s column is cancelled, she’s given first shot at a new lovelorn column-and she can’t afford to turn it down. Only problem is . . . Annie’s never been in love.

Always resourceful, she reluctantly strikes a deal with the town’s smooth-talking ladies’ man Dylan Taylor: She’ll work with his ailing horse, Braveheart, if he’ll help her answer the reader letters.

Working closely with Dylan is harder than Annie imagined, and she quickly realizes she may have misjudged him. But her unwavering conviction that cowboys are nothing but trouble has kept her heart safe for years. And she can’t risk getting hurt now.

The more Annie tries to control things, the more they fall apart. Her feelings are spinning out of control, and her sister’s antics are making life increasingly more difficult. Annie knows she needs to turn the reins over to God, but surrender has never come easily.

When Dylan reveals his feelings for her, Annie doesn’t know what to trust-her head or her heart.

The trouble with “this” cowboy is that he might just be exactly what she needs.

My Thoughts:
This was a found read. It also got my emotions for what a surprising ending as well. Dylan and Annie have to struggle with their past to get though. Though Annie is more worried about her sister and nephew more so then what really is bothering her.

Though it all though they do find somethings. I suggest if you pick this one up you get some tissues. It reach the value of true love and having faith and letting go. Annie as though things needing to learn though out the book. Dylan need to learn somethings though most of it is Annie needing to learn to trust as well.
